Freya North is With a career spanning 28 years, Freya North is one of the UK’s best loved authors of character-driven, contemporary family drama with a strong emotional pull. She has written 16 bestselling novels including her debut Sally (1996), RNA award-winner Pillow Talk (2008), The Turning Point (2016), the critically-acclaimed Sunday Times bestseller Little Wing (2022) which was selected for the Richard & Judy Book Club – and her recent bestseller: The Unfinished Business of Eadie Browne (2024). She is also the editor of The Book Lover’s Journal 2025.
Freya holds degrees in Art History from the University of Manchester and the Courtauld Institute. She founded and ran the Hertford Children’s Book Festival, has judged the Costa Book Awards and is a patron of the Society of Women Writers and Journalists. She is also an ambassador for Bowel Cancer UK. Freya lives on a small farm with her dogs, horses and sheep and enjoys taking ceramics classes, riding her horses and cycling long distances.
